Browser Basics

A web browser is the software application installed on your device (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Firefox) that translates HTML/CSS code into a visual website page. A search engine is a website (e.g. Google.com, Bing.com) loaded inside that browser to scan the internet address directory.
This means the website does not use SSL encryption (HTTPS) or its security certificate has expired. Browsers warn you because data submitted on that site could potentially be read by others on the same network.

Tabs & Bookmarks

Tab groups keep your toolbar organized. While grouping tabs alone does not save memory, many modern browsers automatically sleep background tabs in inactive groups, reclaiming CPU and memory resources.

Privacy & Security

No. Private browsing only prevents your browser from saving local details (history, cookies, session inputs) on your device. Your internet provider, company networks, and the websites you visit can still track your IP address and activities.
